Louvenia Bostick
January 17, 1933 – March 20, 2024

Early Days:

Born January 17, 1933, to the late Cyrus & Annie Mays of Santos, FL. Louvenia was a graduate of Howard Academy from the class of 1952. She shortly thereafter began her long career in the medical industry until her well-deserved retirement in the 1990s from Marion Community Hospital. She was the youngest of 11 children all of whom proceeded her in death and is the last of a generation.

She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church her entire life where her father, the late Cyrus Mays Sr., served as a deacon. She served on the Communion Committee, sang in the choir, and served as choir #1 president for many years.

Children:

Louvenia had seven children: Shuronna Styles, Santos, FL., Kenneth Mays (Gloria) Belleview, FL., Ursula Faison, Ocala, FL. (preceded in death), Louis Faison Jr. (Pam) Macon, GA., Derek Faison, Belleview, FL., Victor Faison, St. Petersburg, FL., and Todd Faison, Lakeland, FL. Craig Wilson, Ocala, FL., and Julius Shuler (Lynn) Orlando, FL., who are considered sons/brothers. 9 grandchildren, 23 great-grands, and 11 great-great grands.

Character:

Mom was the epitome of unconditional love! She taught us to forgive, treat others with respect, love each other and trust in Jesus, which is something she reflected in her life. She had a passion for serving others and would often give until she had nothing left to give. She took care of her parents, her siblings and a daughter until their deaths and never wavered in her love and care.

Even as her health began to fail, she never complained but would proclaim “the Lord will fix it in His time”. She was a light and inspiration to her children and the glue that ensured we were a close-knit family. Although our hearts are hurting, we take comfort in knowing that she loved and trusted the Lord Jesus with all her heart, and she is now resting in the arms of her Savior. With long life He promised to satisfy us, and we are grateful that the Lord fulfilled His promise. Thank you, Jesus, for 91 years!

Rest well mom, until we meet again. So long!
